TEACHING YOGA TO CHILDREN VS ADULTS

an age appropriate experience

Young people's brains are still growing, influencing how they process information and respond to teaching. Their physical, psychological, and social development uniquely manifests on the mat.

Classes are adapted in length, content, and language to meet different developmental needs.

Children typically have less bodily awareness, muscle strength, endurance, and balance than adults. Extra care is taken to protect hypermobile joints (especially the neck) during practice.

There is an emphasis on modifications and adjustments to ensure balance and safety.

Hands-on assists, clear anatomy instruction, and alignment cues are provided.

Supportive equipment (blocks, blankets, straps) makes poses more accessible and stable.
